Writer's Block, I'm losing interest!

First off, I have to say that I missed my Monday post. My husband and I took his mother out for the day because she was having a down day. We wanted to make sure she was okay and feeling better. Did it take time out of my writing day? Yes. Did I mind? Nope! Went bowling and met up with my brother-in-law and had so much fun.
Now, on to my topic. Losing interest in your projects. I have several projects that I have started in the past, made great progress on them, and then somewhere down the line I seemed to lose interest in them. Sometimes it is because the characters aren't very good, or the story just isn't going anywhere, but all in all, I just can't seem to make those stories go anywhere. Other times I hit a road block and give up.

Yes, I have Writer's Block!
I hate, HATE, getting writer's block and I'm having a bad case of it right now. I was going full steam every day this month and I finally hit a road block in my novel that I can't seem to work my way out of. Yet!
You're probably asking yourself, "What do you do when you have writer's block?"
Great question! I dunno. I'm currently laughing at myself thinking about that question because I get asked that a lot. Each writer is different when it comes to writer's block or losing interest in their projects. For myself I'm taking a short break from my project and doing some other things. In the past taking a step back has really helped, but my advice is to not take a break for so long.
Get Back to Work.
I have to tell myself that a lot when I get bored. Get your ass back to work and get it done! Sounds easy, right? Wrong! At the moment, this is my brain;

My interest level is currently Picard. I'm giving myself the rest of the week of staying away from my novel and by Monday I will be getting my ass back to work. This novel is going to get finished. I WILL FINISH!!
Let me know how you get over writer's block/losing interest in your works in progress in the comments below. Till next time, toodles!
